FAQs, policies, and other important things to know.

Best time of day to shoot?

Can I shoot video?

From February through November, there is even natural light pouring into the studio. If you prefer additional harsh light to shoot against, we suggest booking in the late afternoon. Our space is big enough that regardless of what type of light you need, you should be able to find it any time of day.

Yes, but... We share the first floor of a building with other tenants and while videos are permitted, we cannot control external audio sources.

Can I show up early for my shoot?

We do encourage you to show up ten minutes prior to your shoot. However, the studio may be occupied by another party up until your start time. If this is the case, you will need to wait until your set reservation time to enter the studio.

What if my shoot runs over?

If you are late leaving the studio or do not leave enough time to clean up, we will unfortunately have to charge you for an additional hour and/or a cleaning fee. Because we will often have back to back bookings, we ask that you make sure to remain aware of other photographers and leave enough time at the end of your reservation to clean up.

Does my reservation include equipment?

Yes! However, we do not provide any type of lighting or food and drink (other than Topo Chico), but you are welcome to bring in anything you will need during your shoot. Please feel free to email us if you have any other questions about our equipment.

Will I have access to bathrooms?

Yes! There are public (shared) restrooms steps away from our studio on the first floor of our building.

Is any type of shoot allowed?

What if I need to reschedule?

We do not allow any nude photography. Because we are located on the first floor of the Motor Hotel, we ask that you remain mindful of your privacy as well as the privacy of your clients when you book our studios. We also do not allow shoots involving glitter, confetti, messy food, or fireworks of any kind.

While we do not offer refunds for cancellations, we can help you reschedule your reservation for a fee of $50. We ask that you give us 72 hrs. notice in order to honor this rescheduling fee. Otherwise you will need to make a new booking.

Is the studio pet-friendly?

Where do I park?

Absolutely! We just ask that you be respectful of our business neighbors and clean up after your pet.

We have ample FREE covered parking right next to Motor Hotel. Look for signs that say "1513 Line Avenue Parking" and it will lead you into the parking garage. You can park on the first or second floor and still gain easy access to the studio.

Do you allow food in the studio?

You can totally eat in the studio! Just clean up after yourselves. We don't however allow cake smashes or anything 'messy' as we don't have access to a utility sink.

Revelator Studio does not allow any nude photography or partially nude photography. For reference, this includes but is not limited to full or partial nude shoots, implied nudity, pornography, fine art nudity, and transparent clothing. If you are unsure, don't hesitate to email us.

Glitter, paper confetti, fireworks, cake smashes, and firearms are not permitted. Basically anything super messy is not permitted because we don't have access to a sink to clean things easily.

No alcohol, smoking, vaping, or drugs are permitted.

A studio manager will be on site while you use the space unless previously negotiated.

We are not an event space. If you have more than 10 people in your party, please make sure to check with us before booking.

Be courteous of those using the studio before and after you.

We do not offer tours due to our limited availability.

We do not offer refunds for cancellations.

Please leave the space the way you found it. Aka clean up after yourself.
